The Girl w/ 8 limbs

I heard on the radio this morning that the girl's surgery, which appearently didn't have a high chance of success, was completely and totally successful. This got me thinkin' : Is the risk really worth the outcome? Right now, I bet you that the doctors are congradulating each other and the parents couldn't be more thankful, as it should be. I exspect it was very difficult for both parties to even consider an oporation which such a low rate of success but I was thinking that if the doctor knew that the kid was most likely going to die, would he have at least tried anyways? Well, he did and the kid is happy, healthy and normal so, to me at least, it was alittle inspirering
