I thoroughly enjoy writer's week. Mary Fons is one of my favorites by far, I got to see her this year and last year and her writing is just so enjoyable to listen to. I really want to see her show in chicago, too much light makes the baby go blind, with the 30 plays in 60 minutes. That really intersts me.
As for the writing assignments, I hate hate hate sheets we have to fill out during the performance, if I'm going to be writing during their speaking I would prefer to take notes at my own leisure. Last year, I went everyday in two classes, thus having two assignments at the end, one was a sheet, one was a paper. The sheets were horrible, asking nitty gritty questions that were never even mentioned, while meanwhile my paper was amazing. I got to write about whatever/however I wanted and it made me feel like I really did get a lot out of Writer's Week.
For their strict policy, I think that is ridiculous. All the teachers always rave about what a great experience WW is and how we should be so appreciative, but we're not able to see it when we choose? I don't agree with that at all. and their poem this year... oh man.
